This "old girl" had an exciting life on the Long Island. When LIRR bought her from D&H, this unit came with D&H 4019 which became LIRR 1519. The two RSs were operated as a matched set on the "Weekends-only" all heavyweight Parlor Car "Cannonball" which ran Jamaica to Montauk. This train ran non-stop most of the way, making only the stops between Westhampton and Montauk. These two RSs shared a unique paint scheme, that being the then standard LIRR gray with orange ends with the additional of a wide light blue horizontal stripe that matched the window stripe on the Parlor Cars. Only these 2 Alcos wore that scheme. It was indeed an experience to see and hear them rocking along at 60+ mph in the glowing twilight of a Friday or Sunday evening.
