This is a fine example of what Pennsy's "Dark Locomotive Green," also know as called "Brunswick Green," is supposed to look like. One can readily see the difference between the green and the black side sill, inderframe and trucks. And note that the lettering is "Buff," on hood units, and not gold. Early DLG road cab units had gold stripes and lettering, but were changed to Buff in later schemes, most likely for cost considerations. Tuscan Red units, were switched to Buff early on, because the gold did not show up well against the lighter color. Thanks for this fine exposure, Joe.
