I have to wonder what this locomotive is doing in the US. Did the museum just buy it and move it to Maine?

Yes thats exactly why it is here. I talked with someone at the railroad two weeks ago who said it may be running again next spring.

I heard that is engine was for sale along with the rest of the railroads equipment. The railroad no longer runs.

Does anyone know who i can contact to look in to saving this engine?

#1149 was recently bought by the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad down here in NC
