That makes you question how sanitary trains actually are. I thought at first it was some enormous forest fire.

I bet that was incredible to witness! Thanks for sharing!

Spectacular photo Jamie. I hope the train crews have air packs.

How does anyone breathe in there? Nice picture!

The thumbnail actually made me think this was a night shot. All that smoke can't be healthy for the crew, unless the cab is well sealed and air conditioned.

No wonder the USA won't support global greenhouse gas cutting initiatives with this going on in Montana! Very spectacular photo.

That is by far and away the most impressive smoke plume I've seen at Blossburg ! John

Far and away one of the best shots I've seen in a long time. I thought that the loco was speeding away from a major storm heading its way.

Amazing, its the only word that can describe it!

I hope the photographer didn't have to inhale too much of that smoke! Great shot!

Got SCBA? And to think they used to run humongous NP Yellowstone locomotives thru this bore....

Amazing how I go through a tunnel half as long and any EMD's in my consist immediately go belly up. That's all the MRL runs! How ever do they make it? lol

Amazing shot of the old SD40 days, you will rarely ever see this today, as the helper units are SD70ACe's.
