MORE! Dig, dig, dig, George! It has been said (by me) that this was the coolest train consist ever put into production. A search under the term "turbo" will yield more great photos in RP's database. These unique high speed marvels originally envisioned by Robert Young of the C&O Railroad in the early 50's eventually saw fruition under contract with the US Dept of Transportation in the late 60's. To this day, these long gone turbine powered sets still hold the current US high speed record for a production passenger set, topping even the electricly powered Acela by a few mph. No examples, neither in the US, or thier Canadian brothers, survive - except in pictures - thanks George!
