Ok judging by the fact it say cement on the side of the car I'm guessing it carries powdered cement? If so wouldn't it make more sense to carry such a product in a covered hopper car instead?

In New Zealand we carry powdered cement in 20 foot, detachable containers as well, pump in, pump out. Interesting photo though of what is available else where.

My first thought when I saw the picture was that the car had snapped in half. I've never seen a cylindrical car with such a pronounced bend to it.

Nice looking car, great photo (nice pan action!), but oh my what a very unstable design for (my guess) anything other than "short" unit trains. What is the usual environment for this type if design? Pushers allowed behind this?
