This is very unusual. When I worked on the railroad, the knuckle and/or drawbar would fail long before this type of damage could occur. Still, someone posted a UP shot of this sort of thing, elsewhere on this site, involving a hopper of grain. Is this due, perhaps, to the extremely light weight design of modern wagons?
