Actually, if one looks a bit closer, both signals are "Grade Marker' equipped, which allows a train to pass a signal indicating "stop" without stopping at restricted speed. While it may be true that there was a signal suspension in effect over this territory, even without such a notice, the train shown would be able to pass the signal. Hope this helps!

As webmaster for the Monon Railroad Historical-Technical Society, and personal web sites on the former Monon, does my heart good to see traffic on this section of the Monon. So much has been taken up and lost. Great picture Brian.
