Nice shot! Sad that when this photo was taken the (original) CZ was just days from death's door. Interesting, too, that this consist did not include a steam generator car. By this time, most of WP's FP7s were no longer capable of providing heat for the passenger cars.

During those last few weeks of the trains existence, those ex-GN steam cars were almost always present or three units, or both. My guess would be that WP would change power at Oroville and add one there. Also possible that something went bad order in Oakland and was left off.
