Who needs a time machine? This shot makes me feel like I was there yesterday, even though it was over a half century ago. Thanks for sharing!

Wow this is really amazing! You incorporated a steam locomotive, a passenger/MOW train, and a wrecked train all in one picture in the 1950's! PCA!

What a beautiful machine. Must have been something running up the Lehigh Gorge.

Hello John, You are 22 years older. But your photos manage to bring me back to being a 9 year old boy seeing a steamcrane working after a collision of a heavily loaded truck that couldn't brake coming from a hill (december 1964, Wezep, the Netherlands). It hitted a passing crude oiltrain. Nobody got hurt, the truck driver jumped out just before the railway crossing! Seven cars derailed, some tumbled over. There was an atmosfere of relieve all the time for workers and public. Everyone enjoyed working and watching the scene. I was very embarressed getting home with my two younger sisters, all in our new ligt grey coats with a few oil clots on it. My mother didn't worry and washed them out quickly. Thank you for being our journalist at that time, and bringing me back to old times.
