A good portion of the IC electric suburban cars are still in the yard at the far right and the intercity coach yard (middle) still is pretty full. No Big Stan or Handcock Buildings in the skyline yet. A perfectly painted train in a classic shot. Oh, WLS--Dick Beyonde (sp). Too bad you can't attach music to the picture. Thanks for posting it!

Seems like a very classic, historical image of the top of the line from the time period, and of a most major yard and railline. Well done.

Great photo! I think you were a little south of Roosevelt Road. It looks like you are down by 18th Street. Central Station was at the south end of Grant Park. Millenium Park is a separate park north of Grant Park over the tracks at Randolph Station. I remember that Phillips 66 sign from trips to the museums as a kid.
