Very nice photo, the GMO GP10, used to earn her keep on the Yadkin Valley Railroad, a very growing shortline, which has upgraded to GP40-2s and GP38's. I remember when they towed the locomotives away, and now I see where some have found the end of their long useful life.

I think #8047 is not a G.M. & O. The Gulf & Ohio styled their logo after G. M. & O. and this is an Ex- I.C.G. Paducah, Ky. rebuild "frog eye" unit. The I.C.G. used lots of early EMD GP's in their rebuild program, including some Ex-Union Pacific EMD built cab less "B" units. Without frame numbers and a I.C.G. rebuild list it would be almost impossible to state the first owner of this unit. Some research with Gulf & Ohio, headquarted in Knoxville, Tn. might give an answer as to #8047's past.
