The plane went down less than ten miles from home, at Alpine Valley Music Theatre. My father was an EMT that responded to the call. This picture and your comments remind me of that day, but I believe that, officially, "the day the music died" is the day Buddy Holly's plane went down. Thanx for sharing.

that is why I titled it "the NIGHT the music died", because as you mentioned, the DAY the music died was the Buddy Holly crash, even though that happened at night too! tx for your story! Ray
