Posted by Lucas MR on June 15, 2006  Yes, it's a C44-9WM locomotive (the 'M' indicates that the units on the locomotive like speed, fuel capacity, etc.. are measured using the Metric system (Kph instead of Mph). Your question maybe, it's because of the trucks, air intakes, and radiator section, that are identical from the Dash 8 locomotive. All the Dash 9 units that come to Ferronorte have these characteristics, but they're powered by the same GE7-FDL16 4400hp diesel engine from original Dash 9's from USA. Thanks for comment !!
