Wouldn't it be great if railroads chose to preserve buildings like this as part of a national heritage instead of destroying them? It isn't like they couldn't be used. Love this photo with the giant SF logo! As a kid in phoenix I would go to the local roundhouse and visit the old roundhouse foreman who would let me and my buddy crawl up in the engines and even ride out to the yard and back. Nothing quite like that smell in the roundhouse,,never forget it!
