Nice shot Steve, glad you shot the first BNSF ACe in action. Keep it up !
Very nice picture, Steve. Those BNSF ACe's look great. Keep up the great work. Nick Hart

Steve, is the horn similar to CN's and NS's? I like the paint!
SWEEEEEEEEET!, First pic i have seen yet, nose looks a bit funky but awesome catch, you'll get more then a a thousand views on this photo for sure. PAT Lorenz

A very nice shot Steve! That is my favorite BNSF engine right there! I am looking forward to seeing some. Everything looks good on those engines.
WOW! Nice catch!!!
Wow! Congrats on this first (action) shot Steve! I am surprised BNSF went for the high headlight, not to mention those goofy numberboards. Can't wait to see one in person!
BEAUTIFUL! I can't wait to see one roll by! I pity the foo' who don't like SD70ACe's!-Mr. T.
Steve great shot, and hope you remember to check tomorrow to see if another test run will happen.
Ouch, my retina! Nice catch, but then again how could you miss it?
Whoa, that is weird. Usually BNSF goes with black number boards w/ white lettering, & the headlights are usually below the windows. This certainly will make for a unique catch everytime one of these flies by (though that won't happen a lot for me considering I'm in NS territory).
GEXR, EMD, and BNSF wish you a very happy birthday, Steve! Let's hope that these run again today!

Finally taking the plunge into EMD :D Go BNSF woot woot! I wonder how GE is taking this?
Looks as though Joe LeMay and Ryan Cohick are as concerned as I about that headlight location, after all, the concurrent GE's continue to have them situated on the nose. So why does BNSF spend thousands of dollars moving headlights to the nose of hundreds of its older locomotives, and then buy new units with the cab mounting? But then, the Santa Fe, which began the headlight relocation program in the first place, reverted to the cab mount on its first SD75i order...

Not bad, but I'd take an SD40-2 over one of those anyday...
Congrats Steve ! I may of gotten the first shot of a BNSF ACe, but you got the first "action" shot of them ! The things I miss when at work ! !
Great shot! Now we all have a good shot of the horror. But good greif, that thing looks ugly. That swoosh logo is ruining things. Bring back the shield and SD70MACs!!!

Very nice!! Looks good. Sure makes the GEXR engine look pretty bad...
Steve, Lucky Catch!!!>>>You should play the lottery with your good luck. Pot of Orange!!!

I must disagree with JC, Ryan and Joe on the headlight location. I've seen NS, UP, KCS, CN and CSX's 70ACes and dash 2s with this look. So im guessing A: EMD has the headlight as a manditory location or B: BNSF included that as a optional addon to the order. Other then that i say this engine is very sharp. Cant wait to get a break from the countless deliveries of BNSF ES44DCs and ES44ACs through Collinwood yard.
I love BNSF's color scheme! It surely catches the eye. I really dislike the NS black/white scheme, but that's what we have in our neighborhood.

The H2 would have looked better on this unit. It's weird to put speed lettering on an engine with such hard angles. I'd be happy to shoot these over in CSX and NS land, but this is one ugly engine. The best paint on the Aces or -2's is the NS black oil, as odd as that sounds to me. -- Joe H.

That paint scheme looks good on those ACe's, great catch steve

Nice shot Steve, I really would have like to saw that one in real life. BNSF schemes always a good catch so keep up the good work. Very nice shot!
In regards to the headlight location, from a crew members perspective, its much nicer to have the headlights mounted high above the door. Headlights mounted beside the door can get mighty hot and mighty bright if you accidentally look the wrong way.
