Beautiful shot! I think I know where this is. If it is where I believe it is, the Ball jar plant and my grandparents house were right around the curve in the background.

When I was just a lad, I remember thinking that this was an unutterably boring paint scheme. I now plead utter insanity-its a gorgeous scene, so many memories stirred in its wake. Thanks much for sharing.

This is a classic shot. I love it. I wonder if Dave thought at the time that it would have been a better shot without the Corvair? He would have been wrong. That Corvair, the Stuckey's sign and the EMD F units scream the 60's. A slice of 60's Americana. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice picture. It's amazing to see the difference of that line today compared to then. It's sad, the nightly train to the Berkley Mills plant is the only train ruling the rails on this line now.

I appreciate these older shots more than the modern recreations that keep showing up. This looks real (because it is) with the slightly dirty F-units. In every recreation I've seen, both the engine and vintage auto looks like they just rolled off the show room floor/ out of the paint shop. Great shot here!
