A good shot of a special piece of OR&L history. This engine was made by the Manchester Locomotive Works in Manchester, New Hampshire. After the OR&L shut down it was eventually displayed at the Ala Moana Shopping Center in the early part of the 60's. I remember seeing it there myself when I was staioned in Hawaii and it was a surprise to me as I grew up in the Manchester area and had never seen one of the MLW RR engines. The only piece of their equipment I had seen was a horse drawn fire engine that the Manchester Fire Dept. had kept for its historical value.
