WOW with the Loco leading? I thought all the units have been moved to the rear when going north. Did you see any other AMTKs that day?

It's not whether Surfliners have the engine on the North or south end of the train, it's whether they are going to or coming from Los Angeles Union Station. LAUS is one way, the way Surfliners are set up is that All trains pull out of LAUS then turn North or South. This train pushed from San Diego into LAUS. Since LAUS Dead ends, the train turned around, pulled out of LAUS and Turned North. It will later push to LA, then turn and pull to San Diego. As we know, they were originally set up where they pulled to LA, then pushed out. However, that way, I believe engines going into the shops had to drop off their cars in the maintainance area, but then since the cars were between the engine and shops, they had to go back out and around the cars. This way, the train pulls from LA into the yard, then the engine can drop its cars and head straight into the shops without wasting time and gas to go around.
