Neat shot. Weather extremes and trains always make for a good subject.

Wow! What kind of settings did you use on your camera?

To be honest I dont know exactly what the settings were. But I can say that this is a very good estimate:
10 or 15 second exposure at f/19 or f/22. They key is to practice with your camera to determine how it reaccts in different lighting situations. For instance, my camera likes to underexpose night shots by 1 to 1 1/2 stops. So I just use my cameras meter, then compensate for the 1 to 1 1/2 stop, aperature or s.speed depending on what effect Im looking for. My camera and I together usually get a good exposure. And in this shot, if it wouldnt have turned out I would have been extremely disapointed. Thanks for the comments, Raylewis

A lot of people don't realize just how much snow actually falls in the Donner Pass area. It gets more snow than 99% of the rest of the world.

What is the structure on top of the cab? Is it for breaking icicles inside tunnels hanging down from the roof?

What winter means to me.
