Some people do NOT deserve a licence. They must have slept through drivers education class, or got top marks in stupidity!

Can We Say MORON!!!
Posted by BILL MULLER on April 25, 2005
IT LOOKS TO ME LIKE THE GATES ARE NOT EVEN DOWN YET, COULD THIS BE STOPPED?

Guys... Look carefully at the photo. The Gates are up. Therefore the train is stopped or the driver is not a Moron, just shocked staring over his left shoulder. too bad he's not. I'd say the photographer hyped this up a little, but it looks perfectly legit to me. Except for why the river is on the wrong side of the road.

Just to clarify, the gates are on their way down. You can see that one of the lights facing us is lite up, and yes, the train is moving! The guy/gal drove around the median and into the opposite lanes to insure that the gate wouldn't stop them. I was pretty surprised to see this cause the ferry wasn't even in yet.

It's still not as bad as the photographer made it out to be.The train obviously just made a station stop, and the train cannot occupy the crossing until the gates and lights have been operating for so many seconds. The train begins to move, likely stops (or proceeds VERY slowly), once traffic stops train proceeds.

"It's still not as bad as the photographer made it out to be." Except for the horn, which was wailing everything I stated can be clearly seen in the picture. Re-read, and look at the picture, it's all there.

Ross, nice catch. The shot obviously deserves attention. Hello, the car is going down the wrong way to avoid the 15 second wait for the train! Maybe not a life or death moment, but look at the pedestrians waiting for the train, they must be thinking, "What an idiot"... Nice picture regardless.

I agree with Ross. For one thing it was a very STUPID move on his or her part! Stupid, very Stupid! BNSFrailfan.

The law requires motorist to stop when the lights start flashing!

Don't AMTK P42s ditchlights flash if he is "wailing" on the horn? It is funny that she's on the wrong side of the road though!

Looks like we have another one of those pictures that should be Operation Lifesaver material. The poster won't have to include all these details. Nice pic.
