HESR 2144 drags 95 cars eastbound over Swan Creek. The 95 cars consisting of the 90 car grain train, and 5 shorts on the bottom.
The MMRR crew was on duty at 10:00 this morning. Having spotted the CSX System Train in Breckenridge for MAC the day before, all they had to do was finish loading, then they would be off. By 16:30, the MMRR air tested their train, then left eastbound for Paines. The MMRR operating on the east end this late might happen a couple times per year, but when it happens, it's always hard to predict. Luckily with the season, the sun got down far enough to produce a nice shot with some snowfall. I've finally completed a shot I've wanted for a very long time!
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
