On Sunday, August 4, Conway Scenic Railroad celebrated the 45th Anniversary of its first run, a run that was made in 1974 with Conway Scenic ex-CN 0-6-0 #7470. To commemorate the anniversary, Conway Scenic dedicated and named the locomotive for the man that was instrumental in getting the #7470 to North Conway, Dwight Smith. Now at age 94, Dwight was on hand to be recognized and surprised by his name adorning the cab side of the recently overhauled 0-6-0. The #7470 is seen crossing the Moat Brook Trestle just outside of the town of North Conway.
