As snow falls over the Tehachapi Mountains, an SP eastbound crosses over itself on the Loop. Up front is SD40 No. 8432, not one of the 10 40s equipped with extra ballast for increasing adhesion for the stiff grades over Tehachapi, Cajon, and Beaumont Hill. The eastbound's helper will soon blast out of tunnel 9 in the distance.
