Remarks & Notes
GaiaMother Tree is a monumental work of art of the brasilian artist Ernesto Neto. This colorful, hand-knotted sculpture made of colorful cotton ribbons extends up to the 20-meter-high ceiling of the station concourse. The shape of the work is reminiscent of a tree whose crown covers the ceiling of the station concourse. At the root of the tree is a large walk-in room where visitors can linger and sit down on circular cushions. Hanging drop-shaped elements are filled with fragrant spices and seeds. This impressive sculpture was made possible by the Beyeler Foundation.
