Remarks & Notes

Santa Fe 3338 West departs Mormon Yard in Stockton and is about to cross WP's main line at Stockton Tower. For many years, ATSF limited its power in the northern reaches of the San Joaquin Valley to four-axle locomoitves, namely GP30s and GP35s. That all changed abruptly around 1984, when the railroad started running big power on all road freights all the way to Richmond.
