On Feb. 11, 2018, BNSF 1443 got the honors of leading the Phoenix, AZ to Los Angeles, CA loaded baretable train across the Seligman Subdivision. The iconic cascade green of the Burlington Northern Railroad stands out along the southwest desert landscape as the train emerges out of Crozier Canyon at Valentine, AZ. A few miles later, the BNSF 1443 would have engine problems.
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
