On April 22, 2017, a long line of stored Union Pacific locomotives sits on the old main line (now bypassed with a new alignment) between Pantano and Benson, Arizona, which includes the Empirita horseshoe curve. Reportedly, there were almost 300 locomotives located there at that time, stretching roughly 4 miles.
