Remarks & Notes
With its chores in Oxnard, Camarillo and Somis complete - UP 1375 soaks up the morning light in front of the Oxnard crew base after serving as the power for the LOF63. Built in November of 1974, the 1375 is famously known as being THE last passenger locomotive delivered to the Southern Pacific Railroad as SP 3199. During its passenger career, the unit served on SP's commuter trains to and from the San Francisco Bay Area before being pushed into freight service. As the unit was delivered as the Bay Area commuter trains still warmed themselves via steam heat, it was only fitting that these units be delivered with steam boilers inside their bodies at the rear of the body. Presently (November 2017), the 1375 and 1373 are the last two units still operating across the UP system out of a total of three delivered.

What California is known for. Fires, droughts, weed, and people waving rainbow flags. Yah. Great place alright. At least the trains are nice.
