Remarks & Notes
From another negative in the collection of the late O.S. Nock is this view of an Algerian Beyer-Garratt Pacific loco on arrival at Calais Maritime with an express from Paris when it set a speed record for Garratt locomotives of 135Kmh. Twenty nine of these were built in France for the CFA between 1936 and 1940. They weighed in at 216 metric tonnes and were unusual in having Cossart valve gear similar to the Nord 141TC 2-8-2Ts.
