Remarks & Notes
The Test Of Time It is the eve of the Centennial Anniversary of the Nashville Chattanooga & St. Louis Depot in the small farming community of Bridgeport, AL. The Spanish Mission architect style depot was built in Oct 28, 1917 to replace the original depot that was built in 1888. The Depot not only served the City of Bridgeport with Western Union's telegraph office, but it was also the office of the Pikeville Branch Railroad. The original Freight Depot which was also built in 1888 set next to the 1917 built Depot, which was used until 1918 where the railroad located the department into its new facility near downtown, where the older facility was torn down in 1968, the tower which was built in 1917 located in the same general area of the depot was used to switch the double main tracks into a single track just before the Tennessee River suffer the same fate in 1969 right after the freight depot was torn down. As time went on, and Passenger service begin to phase away from the Railroad scene the depot set vacant for 30 years. it was til the early to mid 90s that CSX would give the depot of the City of Bridgeport, which would have been restored, and use as the Bridgeport Area Historical Association Museum.

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
