Eastbound weekend NJT Shore Express Train # 7354 crosses the Manasquan River Bridge which separates Pt. Pleasant Beach and Brielle. Thanks to the advantages of the ALP45DP locomotive, NJT has been running direct express trains to the lower part of the Coastline which is diesel south of Long Branch, enabling a faster ride from NYC/NWK to the beach communities. Unfortunately, the weekend express trains run only between the end of June and the weekend after Labor Day. Express trains to the lower part of the Coastline run on weekdays, but they typically cater toward commuters.
