The WW&F likes to steam clean their steam locomotive No 9’s smokebox in a method they call "sparking." By using a large PVC pipe connected to a clean out plug and blasting steam through the smokebox, a slurry of soot and cinders is removed. The next thing will be a big Kleenex.
