Almost frozen in time, this scene has changed very little in the thirty-two year plus interval since this photo was taken. The farm silo seems to be gone in recent photos, and a new water tower has been erected in the distance. The tank cars remain the same, but the airslide cars have given way to more conventional covered hoppers. In an era when locomotives from a builder that ceased production some fifteen years earlier were rapidly being purged from rosters, I never imagined that this C425 would still be going strong a third of a century later.
