On a beautiful late summer day, two high hood GP38-2s help take us back in time to Granite Quarry, NC on the NS N-Line, a former Southern branchline between Salisbury, NC at Yadkin Junction and Albemarle, NC at Halls Ferry Junction. The line is continuous welded rail for the first several miles, but it becomes rough jointed trackage the farther it gets away from the Piedmont Division main.
