Southern Railway of BC didn't start the month of December well. Only minutes into Monday morning, a train departing Trapp Yard encountered a broken rail toppling four hoppers onto their side. The derailment severed a main artery for the railway, blocking any access in or out of their largest yard. Fortunately, there were no injuries in this accident.
