After acquiring THIS former Milwaukee F7(A) in early 2011, Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad operated and C&O freight scheme painted F7(A) No. 7094 leads the Cheat Mountain Salamander consist on a deadhead move from Belington to Elkins. The locomotive was rebuilt and repainted earlier this summer before being assigned to various excursion trains promoting fall foliage in West Virginia. The ill fated passenger consist would later be broadsided by a loaded log truck at a grade crossing at Cheat Bridge, resulting in one fatality and approximately two dozen injuries to on board passengers. Two passenger cars, pictured in the above consist would be overturned and derailed as a result of the collision. For more information on the incident, please follow THIS link.
