| Here is another photo of one of the Woodhead route electric locos. This time one of the seven express passenger Co-Co machines No 27002 seen pulling away from Penistone with a London Marylebone to Manchester (London Road) express in 1955. Built in 1953-54 these locos were sold to the Netherlands Railways after their service with British Railways ended in 1968, six of them entering traffic with one kept for spare parts. No 27002 became NS No 1506. The viaduct in the background is the line to Huddersfield which remains open to this day unlike the Woodhead route.
