Remarks & Notes

The chair in front of the fire is for her man when he returns from driving an early steam locomotive as they had no protection for the crew. The 0-4-0 locomotive in the shed illustrates this perfectly. Built in 1822 it worked for almost 90 years in coal mines in the North east of England before being preserved.
