Pointless Arrow Also known as the “inverted arrow”, Amtrak’s first logo could be see alongside locomotives and passenger cars beginning in 1971 and was synonymous with Amtrak until late 2000. This logo was the product of the public relations firm Lippincott & Marguiles, which also came up with the iconic Burlington Northern “B” in 1970.
