Remarks & Notes 
On the bright side at Deep River Creek. As Connecticut's Valley Railroad winds its way north from Essex to Chester, the line parallels the Connecticut River on the western shore...often rather closely. It also crosses a number of tributary rivers and creeks on steel bridges, most of which have been modernized within the last decade. Here, the former Aberdeen & Rockfish #40 can be seen hauling a string of heavy steel coaches across the longest of these bridges at Deep River Creek in gorgeous light on a late fall afternoon.
