| A Western Maryland Fast Freight highballs through Cumberland. The shot of the day on the third and final of the John Helmstetter Benefit charters occurred not at some remote photo location, but right at sunrise in downtown Cumberland. The train arrived at the platform downtown about 20 minutes late, and that was just late enough to allow the sun to rise above the ridges to the east of town. The result was a very spectacular entrance for Mountain Thunder and her crew. |
