Remarks & Notes
Is this little train station the longest surviving in the US since it lost its tracks? Pacific Electric service to the Pacific Branch Soldiers Home appears to have been dropped between 1925 and 1932, leaving behind this small depot at the West LA VA Center. I have not been able to track down the orginal builder (have been told the Southern Pacific or maybe the Santa Monica & Soldiers Home RR horse-car line). Either way, this location had then been the town of Sawtelle, CA.

Railroad stations come in a wide variety of sizes and styles, and this album will attempt to catalog these.
