Remarks & Notes |
The well maintained backhead of this 1905-built 102-ton H6sb is off particular significance to me. I can somehow still remember playing in this cab, which is open to the public, for hours when I was just a few years old on a family vacation to Strasburg. I was so enthralled that a security guard came to tell my parents that the museum had closed for the evening. One of over 2000 similar PRR Consolidations, 2846 was built by Baldwin and remained in service 51 years before retirement. Note the squared edges of the Belpaire firebox typical of PRR steamers. |
