Waseca, MN to Nahant, IA manifest train passes Ft. Severson couple miles north of Carpenter. This fort was originally built 1867 for the war, it was later used as a stagecoach stop on the St. Ansgar to Northwood trail. This building was later restored in 1972, and is on the National Register of Historic Sites.
