Remarks & Notes
Edaville Railroad #11. Here's a close-up of Edaville #11 as she approaches the station area in South Carver, MA. This engine began life as a 30" gauge, Porter saddle-tanker which worked in an industrial environment at Raritan Copper Works (later Anaconda Copper) in Perth Amboy, NJ. She literally worked at that company until it went out of business in 1976. Long a static display at the old Edaville Railroad, she was pulled out of retirement and restored to operation by the folks at Maine Locomotive & Machine in 2013. Although she's been heavily modified from her original configuration, the result is very pretty indeed. She's got a new, wooden cab, and a fully-functional tender, giving her better range and much better ergonomics than the original locomotive. She's ideal for this operation.
