Remarks & Notes
Elevated Tower. Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) 3200-Series car no. 3397 (Morrison-Knudsen, 1992-1994) is the lead motor on a 4-car Brown Line train seen arriving at Armitage Station on the North Side Main Line. Looming above the train and platform is Armitage Tower, which was built in 1943 when the State St Subway was connected to the "L" south of the station and controlled numerous switches for this junction. The tower is no longer in service; the interlocking visible in the background is controlled from Clark Tower at the junction with the Ravenswood Branch (today served by the Brown Line).

A colorful system of subway and elevated trains that come by so often "you won't even notice it."
