NRFF On A Rainy Day. Reading & Northern's NRFF (North Reading Fast Freight) is one of the more well know shortline freight trains in the northeast United States. Presently operating six days a week (no Saturdays) it is a a good Sunday photo target in a region where most other options are limited. On September 24, 2023, RBMN 3059 (ex-NS 3327, née-SOU 3327, SD40-2, EMD, 5/1979) is painted in one of the railroad's modern paint schemes, but leads trio of the signature "Fast Freight" painted SD50-2s past the Tamaqua Station in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania with a mountainous background.
