An early L536 pops out of the McCormick Place as it makes It’s way past 31st Street in Chicago with IC SD70 1000 leading a CN SD75I and CN SD70M-2. Normally, this local gets held up a lot. Between Glenn Yard and Kirk Yard, they have to cross 10 busy interlockings along the route, the busiest ones being in Chicago. Sometimes on weekdays it can take many hours for them to get a window across 16th Street where the Chicago Subdivision crosses the Metra Rock Island District. However being really short, they only had to wait for 2 Metra’s at 16th Street, allowing them to get through Downtown Chicago at 11 on the dot.
