All Smiles. EBT General Manager Brad Esposito and CMO Dave Domitrovich both show a rare upward turning of the corners of the mouth at the end of the day as the restored of EBT 16 completed its weekend. Both men were present on November 2, 2019 when the first event that (in retrospect) kicked off the restoration of the railroad was held and the 2 have been working hard on various aspects of the railroad non stop to accomplish this event. After over a decade of absence, steam returned to the East Broad Top Railroad as EBT 16 (2-8-2, Baldwin, 1916) was restored in time for the 2023 Winter Spectacular. There is a lot more to be said about everything, from the story of how the railroad was saved not once but twice from being completely scrapped to the volunteers who kept the hope alive and the generous donation that supported all of the work. But on Sunday, February 19, 2023, it all came together for a second day to close out a very successful weekend.
